Connect biometric devices, and import attendance files when a device is offline.

Devices

Biometric devices (fingerprint/face scanners) send punches to PeopleSync automatically. Under Devices you can see each device, its connection status, and the users enrolled on it. Punches carry the exact local time from the device — what employees see on their calendar is exactly what the machine recorded.

Importing attendance files

If a device was offline (no internet), you can import its attendance export file instead:

  1. Export the attendance TXT file from the device (the standard tab-separated format).
  2. Go to Reports → Attendance Report → Import and upload the file. You can download a template to see the exact format.
  3. Rows are matched to employees by their number; duplicates already in the system are skipped, so importing the same file twice is safe.

Fixing records

  • Missing punch for one person, one day — have them file a Manual attendance application; approve it and the day is corrected.
  • Missing punches for many people — import the device file for those dates.
  • Employee not matching — check that the device user number matches the employee record.
